Snacks & Break
If you wish, you may send a mid-morning healthy snack with your child. They will have an opportunity to eat their snack during a 15 minute break each day. During our break, students participate in a number of active movement activities to give their busy brains a rest.
Footwear
Students will be participating in physical activity every day. Students should wear shoes that do not hinder their participation or movement. Students may bring tennis shoes to change into for recess, P.E., and running/walking the track.
Birthday Celebrations
We celebrate birthdays in class with a special recognition and a song. Many of our students have food allergies; please do not send birthday food treats. As an alternative, you may send stickers, pencils, or donate a book to our classroom library.
Perfume/Cologne/Hygiene
Please discourage your child from wearing heavy perfume or cologne. Students with severe allergies may have an adverse effect. At your discretion, students may also be developmentally ready to start wearing deodorant. And lastly, socks with shoes is also a good idea. Our classroom can get mighty stinky from time to time so thank you for helping keep our room smelling fresh!
